Sul Ross State University Music, The Museum of the Big Bend, Texas Music Friendly Community Alpine, Texas, and First Presbyterian Church of Marfa presents Guitar in the Big Bend!
Guitar in the Big Bend is a series of classical guitar concerts along with a masterclass and workshop in Alpine and Marfa, TX. The event occurs the weekend of April 12-14.
The featured concert artist for this year is Dragos Ilie of Romania. Concerts will also include performances by Jeremy Waldrip of Memphis, Tennessee and, myself, Nicolas Hurt of Marfa, Texas. Dragos has concertized all over the world and has also won an impressive number of grand prizes in international guitar competitions (Koblenz International Festival, the Tokyo International Guitar Competition, and the Texas A&M Guitar Competition). The programs will include an eclectic section of classical guitar music from all over the world, including Alpine, Texas.
